This is my second year to Aspen Groves near Big Bear.  Last year there was snow and the leaves were at peak when I went in Mid-October… this year,  it was like an Indian Summer Day and on the down side of Aspen colors  with a blanket of yellow pedals covering the ground…

But peak the Rim of the World drive… Ahhh the Maples… it was stunning!  Then did the big loop coming home at sunset on the Crest way with LA Basin and a bright Orange Sunset… no tripod for the sunset light,  just my G10 but beautiful colors.
