Commander of Royersford VFW Post 6341 in PA.As we stand here looking
At the flags upon these graves
Know these flags represent
A few of the true American braveNo matter which war was fought
On the day that they died
I stand here looking at these flags
Filled with American pride.Take home with you a sense of pride
You were here Memorial Day.
Celebrating the way Americans should
On this solemnest of days.5:30am the calmness of the morning and the overwhelming numbers of graves and dead soldiers silence in every direction of the peninsula, I was overwhelmed with silence, solitude and memories. Freedom to think and be grateful to be an American on this day!
With loving respect, I bring my dobermans, the breed that helped the fight in WWII alsoknown as "devil dogs".
A note placed on Memorial Day touched my heart!

This is the movie as a kid that made me "fall in love with the Doberman"… their sleek beauty and intelligence was breath-taking!
Not many movies feature the Doberman dog, but one of the classics is the “The Doberman Gang“. This movie from 1972 was about an ex-con, an ex-waitress and a few of their friends who train a pack of doberman dogs to rob banks. There were two sequels that followed, The Daring Dobermans (1973), and The Amazing Dobermans (1976). Pretty cool idea for a movie and I think it be a successful modern day remake.

Many people aren’t aware that dobermans were used in the war. Their service to us in history only makes the doberman breed even more special. Here is a quick War Dog Memorial Video for the dobe fans out there. You can also check out this previous post on the doberman pinscher soldier for more information and pictures.
