Vintage Home Decor and More

  • Getting out of the "boxed-in" feeling…..after all,  art is art …and should be FUN!   Around town  looking for red doors…. some with all the shadows in the "wrong" places, harsh lighting, sun in the wrong spot for time of day at that locations but…..

Too nice a day to be captive indoors….let the sun shine and the shadows fall…

Today… the question becomes:   "Who Cares", it was simply not the point of it all…….

Met some SUPER nice people and that's always cool!  Just having some FUN Days finally!!!!!

  • With all the rains we've had in San Diego…. I'm out chasing rainbows!!!  The sky is so clear it feels like I got new eye glasses!

There are seven colors of the rainbow which can be remembered by just using one key word. This word in ROYGBIV which is an acronym for the seven colors. ROYGBIV stands for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. You will notice that each color sits next to a color that is similar to it such as red then orange then yellow. Mixing paint that is red and yellow will give you a n orange color and is one proven way of showing the changes of color in a spectrum.

When it is raining heavily there is less chance that the rainbow will appear because the sunlight has difficulty piercing the heavy rain drops. In mist you will see the rainbow or after a light shower you can see the rainbow too.

  • I'm a firm believer in the Law of Attraction and how it can work for you in the best possible way. When things are going right they always go right, but when things go wrong, and Murphy's Law tries to take over, it's so much more difficult to get back on that positive track…are there any intuitive exercises that can be done to pull yourself out of that "funk" or maybe catch yourself before you fall into it as a means of protecting the positive bubble of energy that surrounds you when you are attracting good things?

    Sincerely,

    Needs a Jumpstart

How do I get from "funk" to "funky"????

With a full moon as a backdrop, a jet takes off from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in this December 2008 file photo. Saturday night's full moon will appear bigger and brighter than usual as it passes Earth at the closest point in its orbit.

It's a universal truth that dogs are man's best friend, but they're pretty darn loyal to their own as well. Case in point: this tear-inducing video, via the website Jezebel, showing a dog, shivering and disoriented, remaining loyally by the side of a stricken fellow canine amid the devastation of the Japanese tsunami.

You can watch the video below:

The video is a stark reminder that, as was the case when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, there will likely be thousands of pets orphaned or involuntarily abandoned due to the catastrophe in Japan. If you'd like to help efforts to help these animals, you can find info on doing so here.

UPDATE: CNN and the UK Telegraph have both reported that the dogs have been rescued since the footage aired, and are both receiving veterinary care; the more seriously wounded dog is at a clinic in the city of Mito, while the protective spaniel-type dog is receiving care at a shelter in the same town.

Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

    Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

    The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.
